Verizon revealed TravelPass: charges $2 a day for international roaming

Staying connected while traveling outside the U.S. just got simpler.

With TravelPassSM from Verizon, you can use your existing talk, messaging and data plan while traveling abroad for as little as $2 per day, per line*. That means no more roaming charges, calling cards or searching for a Wi-Fi hotspot. TravelPass deducts minutes, text and data from your existing domestic plan allowances so you can travel without fear of roaming charges and hidden fees.verizon travelpass countries

When you globetrot with TravelPass, you’ll have a great network when traveling to the world’s most popular international destinations. Unlike other providers, Verizon doesn’t use gimmicks like “free data roaming” to lure you in and then put you on a slower network and restrict your data use while outside of the U.S. With TravelPass you’ll get great international service – which is just what you would expect from Verizon.

To sign up for TravelPass, simply visit and select “manage international services” or use the MyVerizon app on your phone to activate it before embarking on a trip. Once at your destination, you’ll receive a text message welcoming you to the country and reminding you of the service and the daily fee: $2 per 24 hours in Mexico and Canada or $10 per 24 hours in 65+ other countries*.

The daily fee is only charged on the days you use it in one of the TravelPass countries. TravelPass activates when you make or receive a call, connect to a data service or send a text while within one of the 65+ countries where TravelPass is available. Another daily session will begin once you make or receive a call, send a text or use data after the 24-hour period expires. You can keep TravelPass on your account at no charge so it will be ready the next time your travels take you abroad.
