Slovak operators add more customers with eSIMs
Slovak mobile operators are adding more customers with eSIMs as more devices support the new technology. According to data collected by Zive.aktuality.sk, Orange Slovakia has 25,000 customers with eSIM ‘s, Slovak Telekom totals around 9,000, 4ka has around 5,000 users, and several thousand use eSIMs at O2 Slovakia. slovakia esim
Mobile operators Orange, O2, Telekom and 4ka offer eSIMs and their number is gradually increasing.
The main difference between a SIM and an eSIM is that with an eSIM, the chip is built directly into the device and the operator’s services are only “loaded” in software. When you purchase an eSIM card, only a QR code will be generated for you, which you will scan.
However, if you apply for an eSIM and have used a physical SIM up to now, the operator will deactivate it.
See how many active eSIM cards the operators have:
4ka specified that most clients have eSIMs in Apple devices (86 percent), Samsung devices (8 percent) and Google Pixels (4 percent). The remaining 2 percent belong to other brands.
Orange, Telekom, o2
Orange said that eSIMs are most common in iPhones and smartwatches. In O2 , they most often end up in iPhones. Telekom did not specify in which devices they are used the most.
No one offers eSIM in our market for Apple Watch versions with eSIM. Apple has not yet provided certification for any operator in our country. Last month, the operators confirmed that it will not change in a short time.
