Free Mobile offers 4G roaming internationally
Free Mobile has quietly updated its tariff brochure and standardized plan details. The 100GB plan priced at €19.99 no longer limits international roaming to 3G.
That detail matters.
The previous mention of “3G only” has been removed entirely. In the updated documentation, roaming is now described as “3G / 4G abroad and in overseas territories,” within the coverage of partner networks and for users with compatible devices.
This aligns with earlier statements from Xavier Niel, who had already confirmed that Free Mobile had signed multiple 4G roaming agreements with international operator partners.
In practical terms, Free Mobile’s main plan includes 25GB of monthly roaming data across a wide footprint: Europe, overseas territories, Switzerland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man, and key global markets such as the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Algeria, Tunisia, Israel, Turkey, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Russia, and Ukraine.

And this is no longer theoretical.
Early user reports show that 4G roaming is already live in several countries, including:
- Italy (via Iliad Italia)
- Belgium (BASE)
- Switzerland (Salt)
- Portugal
- Luxembourg (POST)
- Austria
- Netherlands (KPN)
In other words, Free Mobile isn’t just updating wording. It is actively rolling out 4G roaming across its partner network — a shift that brings it closer to what users now expect as standard, not premium.
