Cosmote 4G data traffic up 60% this summer

Largest increase in data traffic in mainland Greece

In 2020, for the first time, areas of mainland Greece registered an increase in mobile data consumption, including the prefectures of Ilia (+100 percent), Achaia – except Patras – (+100 percent), Grevena / Kozani (+100 percent), Fthiotida (+95 percent), Viotia (+95 percent) and Ioannina / Preveza / Arta (+90 percent). From the island regions, Heraklion, Crete (+100 percent) and Evia (+90 percent) emerged as champions in data traffic.

Instagram remained at the top of users’ preferences for another summer, gathering 25 percent of the data traffic, followed by Facebook, absorbing 20 percent ​​of the traffic. More and more users are turning to video streaming, where this year 20 percent of data traffic was consumed, while web browsing also remained high.
