Schiphol, KPN, T-Mobile and VodafoneZiggo want to improve traveler experience

The Amsterdam airport Schiphol has signed an agreement with the mobile operators KPN, T-Mobile and VodafoneZiggo to work together on improving indoor mobile coverage in the airport.

Over the next two years, the new network will be laid out in all arrival and departure halls. But also in the station area, the lounges, piers and Schiphol Plaza. Also in non-public areas such as the baggage cellars. With the new network, Schiphol wants to make it more user-friendly, user-friendly and better for its users and employees.

By 2020, the new mobile network must be ready and more than 30 antenna installations at the airport will provide excellent mobile coverage. The new network will also be suitable for 5G. In addition, the emergency services and the radio system used at Schiphol are taken into account during construction.

All mobile operators will use the same mobile network on all Schiphol terminals and piers.
