Tele2 Russia introduces a new call-to-neighboring-states option

Tele2 Russia informs about the launch of the “Near Abroad” service for individuals and corporate clients. “Many people are used to connecting to a Wi-Fi point at home, office, restaurant, hotel, fitness center and other places – this allows you to save personal traffic in a package plan. With the new service, users will enjoy high content download speeds and a seamless connection at stations and subway cars. We offer this solution to our clients jointly with MaximaTelecom. Our partner has extensive expertise in the implementation of infrastructure projects for the digitalization of public transport and in the development of urban Wi-Fi networks.”

According to the statistics of TMT Consulting agency, in 2021 the Russian market of public Wi-Fi networks showed growth. The number of access points increased by 3.7% to 185.7 thousand, the revenue of operators grew by 2.8% year-on-year to 5.3 billion rubles. The largest player in terms of market volume was the provider “MaximaTelecom” with a market share of 36%. Along with user services, the operator’s network provides the operation of metro technological solutions.
