In the first quarter of the year, Globe introduced its 5G roaming service in Thailand and in the United Arab Emirates. In the coming weeks, the telco is set to launch 5G in more parts of Asia and the Middle East to help customers traveling abroad, Filipinos working overseas, as well as, foreign visitors visiting the Philippines.
Globe is set to open its 5G service to visiting customers of CSL Hong Kong, Singtel of Singapore and Ooredoo of Kuwait. While for Globe subscribers who will be traveling abroad, the 5G roaming service will be made available in South Korea through SK Telecom, Qatar and Kuwait via Ooredoo.
“Apart from ensuring that our customers are able to rely on a service to keep them connected during these challenging times, our goal in getting the 5G service up in more countries is to make certain that when travel becomes more safe and less restricted, our Globe customers will be able to enjoy 5G in more countries worldwide,” said Coco Domingo, Globe’s Vice President for Postpaid and International Business.
Globe is a pioneer in 5G technology in the Philippines with 1,200 areas across the country with this latest generation in wireless technology. Its sustained network builds and modernization efforts resulted in higher 5G footprint for Globe.
