GfK has partnered with technology designer stickee to develop the ‘Daily Pricing Monitor’, a fully-automated data collection, monitoring and analysis suite for the telecoms sector, feeding back through an online dashboard.
The tool already covers more than 200 retailers across 25 countries, giving pricing insights for all models in the Postpay, Pay-as-you-Go, Sim-Free, Sim-Only and Service segments. GfK describes it as easily scalable, adding new retailers and markets in just two to three days. Features include twice-daily uploads of the latest pricing information, integration and simplification of the complex Postpay sector, and the ability to add new retailers and markets on demand. The service helps operators, manufacturers and retailers; and the partners say telecoms brands delivering 55% of the British market (based on 2019 volume of sales) already receive the solution.
GfK’s Vice President UK & Nordics Anthony Norman says the launch gives clients access to ‘live pricing information across all models and packages in the Telecom sector for the first time’, in this ‘fiercely competitive sector’.
He continues: ‘Now Telecom players can take decisions on promotions and propositions, respond to competitor activity and support their partner discussions with always-on data. Plus, we can add new retailers and markets in only a few days, something that was unheard of before. By partnering with an innovative player like stickee, we believe we’re offering the market a truly ground-breaking solution’. telecoms pricing tool
Iain Brear (pictured), CEO at Solihull, UK-based stickee adds: ‘We’re delighted to partner with GfK – and by working together we’ve created something truly unique. Daily Pricing Monitor is an indispensable solution for the Telecom sector – and one that we believe the Telecom industry will come to rely upon as the data currency for pricing. Together, we process one million device and services combinations twice a day, using information directly from the sites to provide market leading accuracy. The standardized and scaled benchmarking enables world-leading telecom players to make decisions fast that will ultimately impact their bottom line and profit margins’.
