Russian operator MTS has introduced a roaming communication service called ‘Messengers When Traveling,’ providing customers with unlimited data to use with WhatsApp and Telegram when they are staying abroad. MTS unlimited WhatsApp 

The “Messenger on the go” service provides unlimited Internet on WhatsApp and Telegram while traveling in a number of countries*. The first 500 MB per day at maximum speed, then up to 256 Kbps until the end of the day. This is enough for comfortable correspondence, sending photos, and even short video calls.

The service is available with a 100% discount:

• on tariffs: Tariff 24, MTS As You Want!, MTS Easier!, MTS Super!, MTS Super, MTS More, Ultra, MTS More Than All, Membrana, Progressors, Tariff No. 0 For Our Own, Tariff No. 0, Tariff No. 1, Tariff No. 2, Tariff No. 3, Tariff No. 4, Tariff No. 6, Tariff No. 7, Tariff No. 8, Tariff No. 10, Tariff No. 11, Tariff No. 12, Tariff No. 77, Tariff No. 112
• if travel options are connected to the number**
In other cases, the cost of the service is 299 ₽ / day. The fee is charged only if you use WhatsApp or Telegram.

How it works:

– The service recognizes traffic that goes through WhatsApp or Telegram
– If a 100% discount is provided, the cost of traffic is zeroed
– If you use only WhatsApp and Telegram, the fee for other options and services is not charged, and Internet packages are not used

How to connect:

“Messengers on the go” are connected automatically when you reconnect the “Abroad” service. Since “Abroad” is included in the initial package of services on current tariffs, then when you connect or change the tariff after April 23, “Messengers on the go” will also be connected.

“Messenger on the go” will be active until September 10, 2025, then it will shut down on its own.
