If you want to be aware of air quality there is a free application that can help you. Developed by the Portuguese Environment Agency (APA), QualAr uses air quality prediction models developed by the University of Aveiro and the Faculty of Sciences and Technologies of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, as well as information from the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS).

The application gives users the possibility to check the air quality , whether in the location where they are or in places they want to visit, both in Portugal and in Europe, and access forecasts for the next day.

It is also possible to check what types of pollutants are impacting air quality and receive warning notifications. when index forecasts are at “Poor” or “Poor” levels in your places of interest.

There is also space for a section dedicated to information about the forecasts made and the index used by the app, as well as informative videos about air quality.
