Ericsson and Turkcell bring seamless eSIM activation to smartwatches in Türkiye
Ericsson and Turkcell successfully partnered to bring seamless eSIM activation for wearable secondary devices, such as smartwatches in Türkiye. As part of the collaboration, Turkcell has deployed the Ericsson Secure Entitlement Server (SES) to fully automate eSIM subscription and activation for secondary devices. turkcell esim wearable
The SES solution is enabled using one single number (Mobile Station International Subscriber Directory Number) with two IMSIs (International Mobile Subscriber Identity) as subscriber identities. With this service, Turkcell customers will be able to remotely activate and manage the eSIMs in their wearable devices and other secondary devices and enjoy voice and data services independently of their smartphones.
Ericsson Secure Entitlement Server (SES) solution is a dedicated platform developed to address a wide range of fast-evolving use cases and solutions. The platform acts as a multi-service enabler and multi-channel eSIM orchestrator, while also being purpose-built for multi-tenancy support for onboarding and managing a communications service provider’s (CSPs) own brands.
Prof. Dr. Vehbi Çağrı Güngör, Chief Technology Officer of Turkcell, says:
“The Ericsson Secure Entitlement Server solution will allow much-needed flexibility and efficiency to enhance our customer experience and enable seamless connectivity. Secondary devices like wearable devices and eSIM is set to be a vital element of the future digital communications space and through close collaboration with Ericsson, we hope to explore various market opportunities in this space and accelerate digital transformation across Türkiye. We are pleased to bring this collaboration to life, which simplifies and accelerates eSIM activation on secondary devices, as part of our goal to connect users with the latest technologies.”
Işıl Yalçın, Head of Ericsson Türkiye, says:
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Turkcell in introducing the state-of-the-art Ericsson Secure Entitlement Server solution to enable smooth and efficient eSIM activation for wearable devices such as smartwatches in the country. We are certain that our solution will support Turkcell with seamless device service enablement and meet time-to-market challenges providing several deployment options. As a long-term partner, we remain committed to continue collaborating with Turkcell to create a future-proof, technology-agnostic network.”
Ericsson and Turkcell’s collaboration in enabling seamless eSIM activation for secondary devices is part of both parties’ ongoing partnership to accelerate digital transformation in Türkiye. Having pioneered eSIM management in the IoT platform market, Ericsson stays committed to offering its efficient solutions around automated and dynamic management of distributed eSIMs to unlock advanced connectivity across the region. turkcell esim wearable
