TravelSIM announces acquisition of 2 competitors

Top Connect, the Estonia-based telecommunications company behind TravelSIM, has become one of the more established names in the alternative international roaming market. While today’s travel connectivity conversation is often dominated by eSIM apps and digital-first providers, companies like Top Connect helped build the earlier generation of global roaming alternatives, focused on travellers, enterprises, distributors, and frequent international users looking for a more predictable option than standard operator roaming.

Headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, Top Connect has more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications. The company operates as a premium alternative telecom service provider for enterprises in the Baltic States and has developed a portfolio that includes mobile roaming services such as TravelSIM and TravelChat, as well as M2M and IoT solutions through M2MtoGo.

Top Connect, provider of the world’s leading alternative roaming service TravelSIM, with more than 5 million users worldwide, announces acquisition of Telestial and GoSim, two competitors in international mobile roaming market.

“The purchase strengthens our market position in Western Europe and Australia, as well as in North America. To be closer to customers and better serve their needs, we have decided to franchise the Telestial brand to our North American distributor OneSimCard who has been our good partner for more than 10 years. The GoSim and Telestial brands have started to offer equally extensive range of products as TravelSIM in over 200 countries and data packages with very attractive pricing,”

says Max Rivshin, CEO of Top Connect Ltd.

According to Rivshin, Top Connect continues to seek opportunities for further expansion through acquisitions, product development and larger distribution network.

“Alternative international roaming is still a growing business. As travelling increases, so does the need for corporate customers to seek alternative mobile roaming services,”

he explains.

Telestial and GoSim have both been active in the roaming market for more than a decade, serving international travellers across multiple regions and building strong brand recognition among customers who regularly need cross-border mobile connectivity. Their addition gives Top Connect a broader footprint and a stronger portfolio at a time when global travel connectivity is becoming more competitive, more digital, and more fragmented.

The acquisition also shows that the roaming market is not only being reshaped by new eSIM brands. Older alternative roaming providers are still consolidating, expanding distribution, and adapting their offers for a market where travellers expect simple pricing, wider coverage, and fewer surprises. For Top Connect, the move strengthens its position in a sector where scale, trust, and international reach still matter.
