Things to do in Milan

Once the stomping grounds of master artist Leonardo Da Vinci, Milan is renowned as a global capital of fashion and design. This northern Italian city is home to grand palazzos and ornate historic churches that date back to the Roman Empire. Aside from museum hopping, dining out at a cozy osteria, and knocking back espressos at a posh grand cafe like a true Milanese, watching a football match at the San Siro Stadium should also be part of your bucket list of things to do in Milan.

When tourists first think of Milan, the first thing that immediately comes to mind is fashion – and they’re not wrong! Milan happens to be the fashion capital of the world, but it doesn’t mean that there’s nothing else to see here!

This sophisticated metropolis is home to world-class culture and art landmarks. Not only are the Milan Cathedral and Sforza Castle architectural wonders, they also happen to house an extensive art collection, too! It’s also important to note that Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper” can also be found at the Santa Maria delle Grazie church – so art afficionados, feel free to geek out! For some shopping, head on over to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II!

When is the best time to visit Milan?

Sightseeing in Milan is best during the spring months April and May because the weather is just right for exploring in and around the city. Early fall is also a good option because September to October is not peak tourism season and is usually when film festivals and fashion shows are held. August is when most locals go on vacation so a lot of the businesses will be closed. Things to do in Milan
