OnePlus International Roaming Service Now Available in 7/ 7 Pro via Open Beta 8
In late November 2019, OnePlus released OxygenOS Open Beta 7 update exclusively for OnePlus 6 users giving them the privilege to access internet services while traveling to many countries. The feature was known as OnePlus Roaming and relieved OnePlus 6 users from buying a SIM card to use cellular data on their phones while visiting countries across most of the continents. Recently, the same feature was made available to OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro devices via Open Beta 8 update.
The OnePlus Roaming feature can be accessed by navigating to Settings → Wi-Fi & Internet → OnePlus Roaming. Thereafter, you will be prompted to buy a data plan for certain countries. After purchasing the data pack, you can choose the data pack to access internet services after arriving in a particular country.
It is to be noted that the value of the data pack varies from country to country, and OnePlus doesn’t offer a data pack for all countries. Secondly, you cannot make any voice calls using the OnePlus Roaming feature. However, you can make voice or video calls using OTT apps such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Telegram.
Apart from roaming services, the Open Beta 8 update added two other interesting features to the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro devices. They are One-Handed Mode and Work-Life Balance.
The One-Handed Mode aims at minimizing the digital screen size of the phone by giving far-reaching options such as Navigation and others near your thumb so that you can easily use them. It can be activated by moving to Settings – Buttons & Gestures – Quick Gestures – Enable one-handed mode.
On the other hand, the Work-Life Balance allows users to set notifications as per their work and personal requirements. You can do the settings under Work Mode and Life Mode and automate them as per GPS, Wi-Fi, and set timeframe.
