Nevaya launches Apple AirPlay in hotels
Nevaya, a UK-based hospitality technology company, has introduced Apple AirPlay support in hotels, offering guests a secure and seamless way to stream content from their iPhones and iPads directly to in-room TVs. The feature debuted at the design-forward Sea Containers London hotel and represents one of the first large-scale integrations of Apple AirPlay technology into the hotel sector outside North America. This partnership between Nevaya and Apple not only signals a shift in how hotel guests interact with in-room entertainment systems but also reflects the growing demand for personalization, privacy, and simplicity in digital guest experiences. As travelers increasingly expect their hotel rooms to offer the same level of tech convenience as their homes, Nevaya’s solution allows hotels to meet those expectations while maintaining robust security standards and eliminating the friction traditionally associated with smart hotel tech.
How it works
- Stream securely and privately – Guests simply scan a unique QR code on the room’s LG TV to pair their iPhone or iPad. This establishes a secure AirPlay session without requiring login credentials
- Auto‑disconnect at check‑out – When guests leave, connections are automatically erased to maintain privacy and prepare the TV for the next visitor.
- One‑time pairing per stay – Stream content effortlessly after pairing once during a visit
Guests need only pair once during their stay and can stream crystal-clear content from Apple TV+, Apple Music, and numerous other streaming apps. They can also watch personal photos and videos, practice a presentation, play fun games on Apple Arcade or get a workout in with Apple Fitness+ all on the big screen, and from the comfort of their room.
What can guests enjoy?
With AirPlay enabled, hotel guests can enjoy a range of personal and entertainment experiences on the big screen, including
- Apple TV+, Apple Music, Apple Arcade, Apple Fitness+
- Personal videos, photos, presentations, and workout apps—straight from their device to an LG hotel TV
Industry and hotel reaction
James Richmond, CEO of Nevaya:
“We are thrilled to be working with Apple at Sea Containers to offer better experiences which drive true loyalty.
“This will be a game changer for those guests who are part of the Apple community and are used to the brand promise of unparalleled privacy, with ease and simplicity that means streaming content to the TV just works.
“We expect to see high demand for Apple AirPlay in hotels, particularly in the luxury sector, which has a high percentage of Apple users. The robust simplicity of the product will ensure that TV streaming becomes as ubiquitous as WiFi in hotels.”
Gavin Allison, global head of IT at Lore Group, which manages Sea Containers, said:
“At Sea Containers, we pride ourselves in providing an exceptional backdrop for memorable stays which exceed expectations.
“This means not only sophisticated design, elevated dining, and award-winning bars, but a high-end in-room experience. With Nevaya and Apple AirPlay in hotels, we can ensure that every element of the stay is the best there is.”
Why this matters
- Apple’s certification standards ensure compatibility with hotel systems, streamlining broader rollout
- Upscale hoteliers targeting Apple‑savvy travelers stand to benefit – comfort and convenience now match what guests experience at home
- Future growth potential – Nevaya has already enabled AirPlay across more than 1,000 properties globally, spanning six continents and 40+ countries
Look ahead

- Apple: Continues extending AirPlay into hospitality, having already rolled it out to 60+ IHG hotels in North America, with plans for broader deployment
Bottom line
Nevaya’s AirPlay launch in partnership with Apple marks a milestone in luxury hospitality. Guests at Sea Containers London can now stream their favorite Apple-enabled content directly and securely to the TV, with automated privacy and ease of use. As hoteliers increasingly adopt such technologies, in-room entertainment is becoming a key differentiator, on par with Wi-Fi, reshaping guest expectations and loyalty.
