Summer is here, and with it comes the long-awaited season of travel. Whether you’re jetting off for a beach escape, an adventurous road trip, or visiting friends and family overseas, staying connected has become more essential than ever. From arranging airport transfers and booking last-minute accommodation to sharing your adventures on social media or simply letting loved ones know you’ve arrived safely, mobile data is no longer a luxury while traveling; it’s a necessity. Recognizing these changing travel habits, O2 Czechia is stepping up with expanded roaming options and a thoughtful summer bonus: starting July 1, customers will receive 1 GB of mobile data free for the first 24 hours of their holiday in 96 non-EU destinations. Mobile data is a given on holiday these days, even in non-European destinations. This is also evidenced by the fact that customers use five times more data during their travels, thanks to popular roaming packages, than in the previous year.

“Internet connection is especially useful after arriving abroad, when you need to quickly arrange further transport, arrange accommodation or contact your loved ones. To make the start of their stay more pleasant for customers, we are giving them 1 GB free for the first 24 hours throughout the holiday,”

says Silvia Cieslarová, Director of Mobile Services at O2. This special offer from the operator is valid from 1 July.

The bonus package is automatically activated for non-corporate customers with postpaid tariffs who travel to one of the 96 countries in the World TOP zone. They will receive information about this in a welcome SMS. The operator will also notify them in advance of the approaching end of validity or exhaustion of data. This gives them enough time to easily activate the paid World TOP package upon arrival, which will allow them to continue using data advantageously. If they have already activated this package before traveling, its use will be automatically suspended and will only start again after the expiration of the bonus 1 GB package.

With extended packages to more countries and at the same price 

The operator O2 is adding more than 30 new countries to its roaming packages, which it introduced last summer:

“The improved packages, now known as Svět TOP, are now valid in 96 countries, which cover 95% of our customers’ trips outside the EU. They can now activate advantageous data packages with just a few clicks, whenever they need them,”

says Silvia Cieslarová. Thanks to this, they do not have to connect to unsecured public Wi-Fi networks abroad, purchase additional services, or enter personal data into unknown applications.

The price of the thirty-day packages remains unchanged despite the expansion to other countries. Customers can purchase  the World TOP 5 GB data packages for CZK 399  and  the World TOP 1 GB  for  CZK 299. While the data in the lower version of the package is good for writing messages to family and friends, searching for information, or checking maps, the higher 5 GB package brings customers comfort in data on vacation, including sharing photos on social networks, using navigation, or occasionally listening to music. In addition to popular destinations such as Turkey, Egypt, the USA, Albania, and Switzerland, they can now use it in Tunisia or the Caribbean countries.

The operator also provides a solution for customers who travel to destinations outside the World TOP zone. For them, it has prepared a new roaming package, World Others 1 GB, thanks to which they can have secure data on their mobile phone for everything important, even in distant destinations. It is valid in 28 countries, such as Cape Verde, the Maldives or Mauritius, and can be purchased for CZK 999.

The same packages are now available for corporate customers. They can be found in the Moje O2 self-service as Svět TOP 5 GB PRO, Svět TOP 1 GB PRO and Svět Ostatní 1 GB PRO.

Customers with tariffs and prepaid cards can order roaming packages simply in the Moje O2 application, in the tariff details, or free of charge via SMS. They can conveniently purchase them before traveling, as well as at any time during their stay abroad. Customers can always access an overview of their data consumption in the application.
