Infobip Takes the Lead in Messaging Fraud Prevention as Industry Faces Rising AIT Threats
Global cloud communications platform Infobip has been named the number one Established Leader in Juniper Research’s Mobile Messaging Fraud Prevention Market report.
Out of 21 global vendors evaluated, Infobip achieved the highest score overall — topping 10 of 11 key criteria, including product strength and market presence.
Infobip’s global reach gives it an edge
Juniper’s analysis highlights that Infobip’s expanding global footprint, particularly in North America, is proving critical in the fight against Artificially Inflated Traffic (AIT) — a fast-growing type of messaging fraud where fake traffic is generated to exploit enterprises and operators. With its scale across six continents and 9,700+ network connections, Infobip’s infrastructure is positioned to detect, analyze, and mitigate such fraud in real time.
According to Ardit Ballhysa, Senior Research Analyst at Juniper Research, Infobip’s strong standing in the RCS business messaging market also plays a major role:
“Infobip’s leading position in RCS positions the company well to address the anticipated rise in fraud across the channel.”
A trusted player in a risky environment
Messaging fraud continues to evolve as one of the most costly threats for telcos and enterprises, with Juniper estimating that AIT-related losses could exceed $5 billion annually by 2026. Infobip’s anti-spam and anti-fraud systems stand out for being data-driven, adaptive, and compliant with regional and operator-specific standards — essential for maintaining ecosystem integrity in a multi-operator, multi-channel world.
Adrian Benić, Chief Product Officer at Infobip, reinforced the company’s commitment:
“Mobile messaging fraud is a critical risk for telcos and enterprises, and we’re fully committed to preventing such fraud for our customers. This top ranking by Juniper Research underscores our leadership, but we’re not stopping here. We’ll continue to innovate to safeguard our clients and the wider ecosystem.”
Recognition aligned with Cyber Security Awareness Month
The recognition coincides with Cyber Security Awareness Month, themed “Stay Safe Online.” The timing feels fitting — messaging platforms are now the front line of digital fraud, and providers like Infobip are being tested on how well they can secure communications without sacrificing performance or reliability.
How Infobip compares to other players
Infobip’s recognition comes as the messaging security landscape becomes increasingly competitive. Other key players such as Sinch, Twilio, and MessageBird have also invested heavily in fraud prevention, but Infobip’s vertically integrated technology stack — developed entirely in-house — gives it a rare level of control over security, routing, and analytics.
While Twilio continues to focus on developer ecosystems and Sinch emphasizes enterprise integrations, Infobip’s edge lies in end-to-end message lifecycle visibility, making it particularly effective in detecting anomalies that indicate fraudulent activity.
Moreover, with RCS adoption finally gaining traction, new vulnerabilities are emerging. Fraudsters are shifting from SMS to richer messaging formats, exploiting weak authentication and inconsistent regional oversight. As Ballhysa notes, Infobip’s established leadership in RCS means it is one of the few companies truly equipped to address these new challenges.
The bigger picture: securing the future of digital communication
Infobip’s rise to the top of Juniper’s ranking isn’t just an accolade — it’s a reflection of how fraud prevention has become a defining factor in telecom innovation. As messaging channels diversify, the line between connectivity and cybersecurity is fading fast.
In a market where trust equals retention, vendors that combine communication reach with real-time threat intelligence are setting new industry benchmarks. Infobip’s strategy — blending scale, compliance, and continuous product innovation — shows what the future of secure global messaging might look like.
And with messaging volumes projected to grow exponentially through AI chatbots, RCS, and IoT, it’s clear: fraud prevention isn’t a back-office function anymore — it’s becoming the core value proposition for global cloud communication leaders.
