Beeline Russia launches VoLTE roaming
Beeline customers have been allowed to use VoLTE* (Voice over LTE) technology outside of Russia. High-quality voice communication is now available in roaming in countries such as Kazakhstan, Singapore, Taiwan and China, which has become an important step in the development of the operator’s services. Statistics for China show a significant increase in demand for international roaming — the number of connections has increased by 1.5 times over the year. This trend confirms the relevance of launching a new technological service for Beeline customers abroad.
VoLTE (Voice over LTE) is a voice transmission technology over 4G/LTE, providing high-quality sound, instant dialing, and a stable connection even when using the Internet. Unlike outdated 2G/3G networks, where voice and data were transmitted separately, VoLTE allows you to talk and use the Internet at the same time without losing speed. This technology is becoming especially important in the context of the global transition of operators to modern communication standards – for example, in Singapore, where 2G/3G networks have already been switched off, voice communication works exclusively via LTE with VoLTE support.
Beeline does not forget about guests from abroad either. The advantages of Beeline’s VoLTE network are already available to subscribers of some operators from South Korea and the UK. The operator is also actively working with partners from other countries for whom it is important to provide their subscribers with high-quality roaming services.
Beeline Vice President for Operator Business Sergey Bykov:
“The launch of VoLTE roaming is an important step in the development of our network and improving the quality of services for customers. We are proud that our subscribers can now use advanced technologies not only in Russia but also abroad. This was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of our operator, business, technical, and corporate security teams. We continue to work on expanding the geography of VoLTE roaming and set ourselves the goal of launching this technology in the USA, South Korea and other countries where operators are actively switching to 4G/LTE networks, replacing outdated 2G and 3G. This will allow Beeline customers to always stay in touch, wherever they are, and our goal is to provide them with this opportunity anywhere in the world.”
*VoLTE roaming is available for Beeline subscribers with supported devices and tariffs.
