Allego connects to French roaming service Gireve
Charging infrastructure provider Allego has joined forces with Gireve of France, a roaming platform provider. The alliance will enable access to Allego’s 12,000 charge points across Europe via Gireve’s IT platform called ConnectPlace.
The digital cooperation uses the Open Charge Point Interface to connect providers, operators, and electric car drivers to the Allego charging network.
Allego claims a network of more than 12,000 AC and rapid charging points in Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the UK. Moreover, the company is part of the MEGA-E (Metropolitan Greater Areas Electrified) effort to deploy 322 high-power chargers capable of delivering 350 kW in at least ten European metropolitan areas.
In fact, Allego recently helped boost charging power to a remarkable 450 kW at a demonstrator site in Germany. The trial also involved BMW, Porsche, Phoenix Contact and Siemens that had developed prototypes of both charging stations as well as dedicated demo electric vehicles, reportedly.
Bruno Lebrun, Chairman of GIREVE , “GIREVE wants to become a long-term partner of mobility and charging operators in Europe, offering them connectivity services and collaboration tools, which are useful for providing electric mobility services to electric vehicle drivers. ”
“We believe that innovative partnerships like the one we are putting in place with GIREVE will improve the charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, enriching the driver’s experience. This is a significant step for the facilitation of the electrical transition and for a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future, “
commented Anja Van Niersen, President of Allego.
