User Experience and Interface
Ease of use is crucial for any technology.
User Interface
Overall, users find the BNESIM app to be easy to navigate and use. The app is well-organized and the menus are clear and easy to understand. Users also appreciate the app’s modern design and clean aesthetic.
One of the things users like most about the BNESIM app is its simplicity. The app doesn’t have a lot of unnecessary features, which makes it easy to use. However, some users have expressed a desire for more advanced features, such as the ability to manage multiple eSIMs and to track data usage more granularly.
Functionality
The BNESIM app is packed with features that make it easy to manage your eSIM and stay connected while traveling. Some of the key features include:
- Easy eSIM activation: The BNESIM app makes it easy to activate your eSIM. Simply scan the QR code from your eSIM order confirmation email or enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code manually.
- Manage your eSIMs: The BNESIM app allows you to manage your eSIMs, including activating, deactivating, and updating them. You can also view your eSIM balance and usage data.
- Add funds: You can add funds to your BNESIM account directly from the app. This allows you to keep your eSIM active and avoid any interruptions in service.
- Top-up your data: If you run out of data, you can top up your balance directly from the app. This is a convenient way to keep your eSIM connected without having to purchase a new SIM card.
- Track your data usage: The BNESIM app allows you to track your data usage so you can avoid overages. This is a helpful feature for those who are on a limited data plan.
Overall User Experience
Overall, users find the BNESIM app to be a valuable tool for managing their eSIM and staying connected while traveling. The app is easy to use, has a variety of useful features, and is constantly being updated with new features.
Important: The account only active for six months without topping up the SIM card
If the SIM card is not actively used for more than six months, the account will be frozen and calls will no longer be possible, not even incoming calls. The customer must therefore book at least one option at least twice a year and top up credit for it beforehand. The cheapest package costs 9 euros and includes 50 minutes. To keep the SIM card permanently usable, you have to invest at least 18 euros a year. After a minimum top-up, the previously frozen account will be reactivated – of course, if you didn’t buy a plan with no expiration.
BNESIM includes detailed instructions in English with the SIM card. The SIM, which is supplied in all three formats, must first be inserted into the smartphone. It can then take several minutes for the SIM to log into the local partner network. In any case, both the mobile data network and data roaming must be activated in the mobile phone beforehand.
Registration: No personal documents are required
In the test, we didn’t have to enter any other personal details apart from our name, and there was no unequivocal user identification. The selected tariff is displayed again during activation. The activation page then starts a 15-minute countdown for the final activation of the card. However, we did this after around five minutes. Finally, we were shown the account data (username and password) of our BNESIM account. This data should be photographed or noted, as BNESIM has not collected any contact details for an account recovery up to this point.
In our opinion, all processes at BNESIM are very professional, clear, and understandable.
At BNESIM, all phone calls are made via the app, and text messages are also received here. Of course, the international country code must always be dialed with all telephone calls. The call setup usually takes one to two seconds, sometimes “BNESIM” is announced briefly before the connection is established. On most of the phone calls we made, the voice quality was very good and comparable to that of a UMTS phone call.
The data packages can only be paid for by credit card. For a monthly surcharge, the customer can book additional local numbers from 40 countries (in addition to a free one), including Switzerland, the USA, Canada, France, Hong Kong, Japan, Great Britain, Australia or New Zealand.
Conference rooms
BNESIM has recently added a feature called conference rooms. Every BNESIM user gets 1 room with up to 3 participants. The room has a phone number assigned to it. People can call in to join and can disconnect at any time. While callers are connected, they can hear and talk to everyone else connected in the room.
To add one more room and to have a higher capacity in each room, you need to upgrade to BNE PRO subscription. You get a total of 2 rooms and 10 participants per room after the upgrade.
I find this feature helpful for professionals working from home. It is a proper alternative for clients who are old-fashioned and prefer the telephone over apps like Skype, Zoom or Webex.
Customer support
BNESIM offers a range of customer support options to cater to the needs of its users. These options include 24/7 live chat, email support, and a knowledge base.
Live Chat
BNESIM’s live chat support is available 24/7, which is a major advantage for travelers who may need assistance at any time of day or night. The live chat agents are generally knowledgeable and helpful, and they are able to resolve most issues quickly.
Email Support
BNESIM also offers email support, which is available 24/7. However, email support may not be as responsive as live chat, so it is best to use this option for less urgent inquiries.
Knowledge Base
BNESIM’s knowledge base is a comprehensive resource that includes answers to frequently asked questions (FAQs) and step-by-step guides on a variety of topics, such as how to activate your eSIM, how to manage your account, and how to troubleshoot common problems.
Overall Customer Support
Overall, BNESIM’s customer support is generally good. The live chat agents are knowledgeable and helpful, and the knowledge base is a valuable resource. However, email support may not be as responsive, so it is best to use this option for less urgent inquiries.

David
I’ve been using BNESIM for over a year, in the UK, Europe, and Asia, and both phone and data services have worked well. Pricing is very reasonable, and support is responsive. The only issue is that it is impossible to text mobile phones in the UK because BNE doesn’t set a caller ID for texts, so they end up getting blocked.
David B.
BNESIM has made my life so much easier when traveling. Their eSIMs are super convenient and affordable – no more hunting for local SIM cards or getting hit with crazy roaming fees. Highly recommend!
Oliver
Honestly, BNESIM is awesome! I needed customer service once, and the wait was short. The eSIM + smartwatch combo is the best—total freedom from my phone. Reccommend!
