Public Mobile Launches 100GB Canada-US Roaming Plan
Telus-owned Public Mobile launched a new $49/100GB 4G plan with Canada and US roaming usage. The plan includes 100GB of 4G data, with speeds capped at up to 100Mbps.
Along with that, new Public Mobile plan includes Canada/U.S. usage and 1,000 monthly long-distance minutes to China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Taiwan, and the U.K.
It also includes unlimited Canada and US calling and unlimited international texting.
Countries included in international long distance include: Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Venezuela. Calls must originate from Canada. Any unused minutes will roll over to your next cycle.
If you don’t need 100GB of data per month — Public’s $45/65GB Canada/U.S. 5G plan (250Mbps) is a better option and it includes the same bonus long-distance minutes.
There’s also Public’s recently-extended $36/50GB Canada/U.S. 5G plan which, while not as good as previous versions, is still much cheaper than the $49 plan. I think it’s also a better option unless you need that 100GB of monthly data. The Public’s other plans haven’t changed.
To get that much data elsewhere, you’d be looking at $55 with Freedom Mobile (which includes Canada/U.S./Mexico usage), or $65/mo with the Big Three for a Canada-only version.
