Intesa Sanpaolo offers Google Pay for clients with Android devices

The Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo said that it has partnered with Google to provide Google Pay for mobile payments for all its clients who use an Android device. Google Pay can be used for payments with contactless POS and on a vast number of apps and websites to purchase items online.
Google Pay is a digital wallet and online payment system developed by Google to power in-app and tap-to-pay purchases on mobile devices, enabling users to make payments with Android phones, tablets, or watches. It also allows users to send and receive money from others, store tickets and loyalty cards, and even take transit in certain cities, making it a versatile tool for managing digital transactions.
To get started, add your credit, prepaid, and international debit cards to your Android or Google.

From the Intesa Sanpaolo Mobile app:

Access the XME Pay digital wallet, or activate it if you have not already done select the card you want to register for; Add to Google Pay

From the Google Pay app:

Add a new payment method: Enter the date of the card you want to register with the service and confirm the request with O-Key Smart or O-Key SMS directly from the Intesa Sanpaolo mobile app.

How to pay with Google Pay:

Pay with Google Pay in the store

  • With the smartphone: bring the phone closer to the enabled POS, authorize the transaction and display the confirmation on the Google Pay app
  • With the smartwatch: activate the payment function from your watch, enter the PIN if required, bring the smartwatch closer to the enabled POS and view the payment confirmation on the display

Pay with Google Pay Online and in the app:

  • Choose Google Pay as the payment method among those available
  • Authorize payment from your device with a fingerprint, iris or PIN and view the outcome of the purchase on the site

  • Contactless payments without signature or PIN up to 25 euros in shops with POS enabled and up to the cumulative amount of 150 euros of transactions carried out starting from the date of the last PIN entry. If the Android smartphone has been unlocked for less than three minutes, a PIN or fingerprint or iris recognition is not required to authorize the payment, even for amounts over 25 euros.
