EasyJet adds Aqaba, Jordan to Manchester winter schedules
Budget carrier easyJet is launching a new route from Manchester Airport to Aqaba in Jordan this winter. Flights and holidays are now on sale from Manchester to the Jordanian city situated on the Red Sea. easyjet jordan
Flights will operate up to twice a week on Mondays and Fridays throughout the winter, with flights scheduled to take off from 6 December 2021.

Jordan is becoming a popular winter sun destination for Britons and the resort of Aqaba offers waterparks, malls, and beaches located on the stunning Gulf of Aqaba.

Aqaba is a great starting point for exploring Jordan, and there are plenty of fantastic places to see nearby. From Aqaba’s King Hussein International Airport, here’s what you can do and see:
1. Aqaba City (Close to the airport)
Aqaba Marine Park: If you’re a fan of diving or snorkeling, head to Aqaba’s Marine Park for clear waters and vibrant coral reefs.
Aqaba Fort: Visit the historical Aqaba Fort, a 16th-century structure with significant cultural importance.
Coral Beach: If you’re interested in spending a relaxing day, this beach is perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
Al-Hussein Bin Ali Mosque: This beautiful mosque is worth a visit for its impressive architecture.
2. Petra (Approx. 2 hours 30 minutes by car from Aqaba)
Petra, one of the most iconic archaeological sites in Jordan, is only a short drive from Aqaba. It’s a must-see UNESCO World Heritage site and famous for its stunning rock-cut architecture and water conduit system.
Al-Khazneh (The Treasury): This is the most famous monument in Petra, an incredible façade carved directly into the rock.
Monastery: Another grand monument located higher up, offering stunning views of the desert landscape.
The Siq: A narrow, winding canyon that leads to Petra’s main attractions.
3. Wadi Rum (About 1 hour by car)
Wadi Rum is a desert valley known for its breathtaking landscapes, towering sandstone mountains, and ancient petroglyphs. You can take jeep tours, go camel trekking, or stay in a Bedouin-style camp.
4. Aqaba’s Beaches & Red Sea (Local to the airport)
The Red Sea offers opportunities for water sports, from jet skiing to kite surfing. If you’re a diver, you’ll find some of the best underwater experiences at the Aqaba Marine Park.
