4ka Prepares Clients for Summer Roaming with SMS Campaign

As the summer holiday season kicks off, Slovakia’s 4ka mobile operator is proactively ensuring its customers stay connected abroad with expanded 5G roaming and updated partner networks. The mobile operator 4ka comes before the summer season with news for its customers.
The company extended the availability of 5G roaming to three destinations – the United States of America, Montenegro and Turkey. The expansion of 5G roaming by operators is a response to the growing demand for fast and high-quality mobile connections abroad. The service works in Montenegro with operator One, in the USA it is T-Mobile, and in Turkey the Turkcell network can be used.

In addition, new operators were added in countries where 4ka already provided 5G roaming. Specifically, it concerns Estonia (Telia), Finland (Elisa), and Spain (O2). In Iceland, there is no longer 5G roaming via Vodafone but Síminn. In Luxembourg, 5G via the Post operator ended, and in Romania, Orange.

4ka clients do not have to activate 5G roaming. When entering one of the three new destinations, their 5G connection will automatically be activated if their device supports this technology and they are in coverage. However, data is very expensive in all countries – 1 MB for up to 2 euros. The operator does not have a discounted package.

Where else does 5G roaming up to 4k work?
Included countries are: Belgium (Proximus), Bulgaria (Yettel and A1), Cyprus (Cyta and Epic), Czech Republic (O2), Denmark (Telia and 3), Estonia (Telia and Elisa), Finland (Telia), Greece (Nova), Netherlands (Ibasis), Croatia (A1), Ireland (Vodafone and 3), Liechtenstein (FL1), Lithuania (Telia), Latvia (LMT), Luxembourg (Tango), Hungary (Yettel and Vodafone), Malta (Epic and Go) , Germany (O2 and Vodafone), Norway (Telia), Poland (Orange and Plus), Portugal (Meo), Austria (3 and A1), Romania (Digi Mobil), Slovenia (A1), United Kingdom (Vodafone, 3 and O2), Spain (Movistar), Switzerland (Salt and Sunrise), Sweden (Tele2, Telia and Tre) and Italy (Wind). 5G roaming also works within the island of Reunion (SFR Reunion).

New SMS with information

Yesterday, the operator started sending SMS to clients with a link where they can find information about roaming. SMS has a tip for clients if their device does not connect to a foreign network.

  • on an Android device, search for the 4KA SIM application in the menu and set it as follows:  4KA SIM → Roaming → Select mode → Automatic
  • on an iOS device, go to  Settings  and continue to  Mobile → SIM applications → Roaming → Select mode → Automatic

“If the SIM card did not log in to the network even when the mode was set to Automatic, manually change the mode to Foreign and after successfully logging in to the network, return the mode to Automatic so that the phone logs into the domestic 4ka network when returning to Slovakia,” the operator describes.
