If you’re a frequent traveler, Skyroam can be a solution for your needs: once connected, it allows up to 5 devices to share the 4G LTE data goodness via Wi-Fi: your phone, tablet, laptop, etc.

The Skyroam Solis X is an international Wi-Fi hotspot with solid LTE speeds around the globe and a battery that can easily get you through a busy day of work or travel.

Built-in 4700 mAh Power Bank: Stay online all day long with 16+ hours of battery life and keep all your gadgets charged on the go. Another positive fact is that batteries can last for up to 16 hours.

Each day pass gives you 24 hours of unlimited data and costs $9 BUT: day passes and subscription plans have a high-speed cap of just 500MB per day. After that, you’ll get throttled back to a “reduced” speed (roughly 2.5G, not much better than dial-up).

So if you need access to email, app stuff, or maybe some map data, Solis is a good solution for bigger expectations or needs.

Also, Skyroam Solis is a more expensive option than purchasing local SIM cards, but it is also vastly less complicated.

For comparison, Roaming Man offers unlimited data for $7 a day, but LTE speeds are capped at 500MB per 24 hours. My Webspot pricing varies with your location and length of rental, but it starts around $10 per day and LTE data is capped depending on where you are. In the US and Europe, you have access to 1GB of data each day before speeds are slowed down, and in most other parts of the world, you only get half that.

First-Time User? Here’s how to get started:

  1. Power on your Skyroam Solis X device by:
    1. Holding down the power button for 3 seconds.
    2. You will notice a slight vibration, and LED lights will appear.
  2. Once your Solis X is fully powered on, connect to Skyroam’s WiFi network:
    1. You can locate the Skyroam WiFi network and password on the back of your device.
  3. You can complete your account registration on the Solis App with your:
    1. Email
    2. Password

How do I connect to Skyroam’s WiFi network?

  1. Power on Skyroam Solis X
    1. Hold down the power button for 3 seconds
    2. You will notice a vibration
  2. Connect to Skyroam’s WiFi Network
    1. You can locate the Skyroam WiFi network and password on the back of the device
  3. Go to WiFi settings on your gadget
    1. Select the Skyroam WiFi network and password
  4. (Optional) You can also connect by scanning the QR code on the back of the hotspot with Solis App
