Etisalat launched eSIM
eSIM is now a reality in the UAE or will be as soon as the owners of the new Apple iPhones (Xs, Xs MAX, and the Xr) download iOS 12.1, which is being rolled out across the world today. etisalat esim
An eSIM allows users to connect their smartphones to a telecom’s network without having to purchase a physical card, although the eSIM phones announced so far can also use physical SIMs, essentially making them dual-sim phones.
eSIM services are also being rolled out in Austria and Canada. Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, the UK, Hungary, India, Spain, and the US. In the UAE, the only phones that are eSIM-compatible are the three latest iPhones. Two Google Android phones (the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2XL), which have not been released in the UAE, are also eSIM compatible.

How to activate eSIM
- Visit any Etisalat outlet to register the eSIM to your phone
- Get the QR code from My Etisalat UAE app (existing number) or an Etisalat agent (new number)
- Scan the QR code on the phone you would like to activate the eSIM on

From your iPhone
Make sure your iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max or iPhone XR is updated to iOS 12.1 and above
- Scan the QR code provided by our agent
- Go to Settings > Cellular
- Select “Add Cellular Plan” to launch the camera automatically
- Use your iPhone to scan the QR code
From your Samsung
- Scan the QR code provided by our agent
- Go to Settings > SIM Card Manager
- Select eSIM > Add Mobile Plan to launch the camera automatically
- Use your Galaxy phone to scan the QR code
Your eSIM is ready to use.
