Belgians to soon pay for traffic fines via QR-code
Customers of other banks were also meant to use the system, via mobile banking apps, but technical problems proved a hindrance.
QR code payments for traffic fines are becoming more common in Europe, but not all countries offer this option.
Here are some countries that currently support traffic fines payments via QR code in Europe:
- Italy: The Italian government introduced the QR code payment option for traffic fines in 2020. Drivers can use the PagoPA platform to scan the QR code and pay the fine.
- France: In France, drivers can pay traffic fines using the ANTAI mobile app, which supports QR code payments. The app is available for iOS and Android devices.
- Germany: Some municipalities in Germany have introduced QR code payment options for traffic fines. Drivers can use the PayByQR app to scan the code and pay the fine.
- Spain: The Spanish government has introduced a new app called “Tráfico” that allows drivers to pay traffic fines via QR code. The app is available for iOS and Android devices.
- Netherlands: In the Netherlands, drivers can pay traffic fines using the official government website or the CJIB app, which supports QR code payments.
It’s important to note that QR code payments for traffic fines may not be available in all cities or municipalities within these countries. It’s best to check with the specific municipality where the fine was issued to see if QR code payments are accepted.
