The revamped space has a new professional kitchen to produce an extensive buffet offering and a premium á la carte menu.

The reopening also sees the return of American’s Champagne station, alongside top-of-the-range coffee machines and an extensive wine and spirits list. The airport lounge offers space for 120 guests.

“Our London Heathrow lounge aims to further enhance the customer experience,” said Rhett Workman, MD, Strategic Performance and UK Operations.

“At American, we want to continue reinvesting in our products and services to best meet the needs of all our passengers.”

The lounge is accessible to oneworld customers traveling in First on a same-day international flight operated by American or a oneworld airline.

The First Class Lounge is open daily from 5:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

While American Airlines’ lounge is a nice addition, it may not be as exclusive or luxurious as some of the other oneworld lounges available at Heathrow Terminal 3, which offer more amenities and services for eligible passengers.

Heathrow Terminal 3 has amazing oneworld lounges

It’s of course fantastic to see more lounge capacity brought back. For eligible travelers visiting the American Airlines lounge at the airport, this will also be a very nice improvement. However, it’s worth acknowledging that Heathrow Terminal 3 is probably the best airport terminal in the world when it comes to the variety of oneworld lounges that travelers have access to.

This lounge complements:

  • The Qantas Lounge, which is open to all oneworld first and business class passengers, as well as oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members
  • The Cathay Pacific Business Lounge, which is open to oneworld business class passengers and oneworld Sapphire members
  • The Cathay Pacific First Lounge, which is open to oneworld first class passengers and oneworld Emerald members
  • The British Airways Galleries First Lounge, which is open to oneworld first class passengers and oneworld Emerald members
  • The British Airways Galleries Business Lounge, which is open to oneworld business class passengers and oneworld Sapphire members

Travelers should check the eligibility criteria and entry requirements for each lounge before visiting, as they may vary depending on the airline, class of service, and frequent flyer status.
