Russia, Sweden and Ireland are leading in terms of roaming costs in Georgia. The top five also include Japan and Turkey. This information has been published by the National Communications Commission of Georgia.
According to the agency, in 2019, roaming subscribers of Russian mobile operators spent 666,295 GEL, Sweden – 534,854 GEL, Ireland – 505,157 GEL, Japan – 408,860 GEL, and Turkey – 239,838 GEL.
The number of tourists visiting Georgia increases 8% in Jan-July 2019; 2,697,624 tourists (+8%) and 4,961,918 international travellers (+7.8%) in January-July 2019, announces the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA). Most visitors were from Russia.
Visitors to Georgia can purchase a tourist SIM card upon arrival at the airport or at various mobile network operator stores and kiosks throughout the country.
