WindTre rolls out half-size ‘Green SIM’ cards

Italian operator WindTre has begun distributing eco-sustainable SIM cards made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic via its retail store network. The company said the so-called “Green SIM” is half the size of existing cards and is produced without creating CO2 emissions from plastic made entirely from end-of-life appliances. wind tre sim cards

The move follows that of its low-cost brand Very Mobile, which began replacing its full-size SIM cards with half-size “Very Green” cards at the end of last year. WindTre has also been offering an embedded SIM card (eSIM) service since 2020.
