Vodafone Spain will expand its 5G network to five new cities

Vodafone Spain will be activating its 5G network in 5 more cities “in the coming months” following the technology’s launch in an initial 15 cities earlier this year, reports Expansion, citing CEO Antonio Coimbra.

In a press conference following publication of the company’s quarterly results, Coimbra said Vodafone is busy deploying new networks in 5 unnamed cities in Spain and reinforcing the existing infrastructure in the 15 launch cities, where coverage now stands at an average of 50 percent.

On the other hand, it has also affected that Vodafone is working much more in the business environment than in particular in terms of 5G, as it reflects that it has carried out 32 use cases for companies in eight sectors, such as agriculture, health or industry , and with the collaboration of 29 partners.
