The trial will test the use of 5G SA for two different use cases:
- Low-latency roaming regional breakout: This will enable mission-critical IoT applications, such as remote surgery and autonomous vehicles.
- Hosted Security Edge Protection Proxy (SEPP) connectivity: This will provide a secure and reliable way to connect to enterprise applications and services.
The trial will be conducted in Turkey and Germany and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
“We are excited to partner with Deutsche Telekom on this important trial,” said Serhat Demir, CTO of Turk Telekom. “5G SA has the potential to revolutionize the way we live and work, and this trial will help us to ensure that we are ready to deliver the best possible experience to our customers.”
“We are committed to leading the way in 5G innovation,” said Adel Al-Saleh, CEO of Deutsche Telekom Global Carrier. “This trial is an important step towards making 5G SA roaming a reality for our customers around the world.”
