To provide a concrete solution to the shortage of skilled labor, Open Fiber , the Aspi Group through its subsidiary company for construction Amplia Infrastructures and CIEL , a company specialized in the sector of technological systems, have set up a consortium that will be active in completing the network in optical fiber that Open Fiber is building in Italy. The Consortium, called Open Fiber Network Solutions , provides for the recruitment and training of professionalswhich will operate in the construction of fiber optic telecommunications infrastructures. The MoU between Autostrade per l’Italia and Open Fiber is aimed at enhancing the digitalization projects of infrastructures, roads and networks , through the implementation of initiatives in the field of smart cities, ITS systems (Intelligent Transport Systems), smart roads, and mobility and, more generally, sustainable and innovative mobility .
In this context, the Aspi Group and Open Fiber are in the best position to be able to play a leading role in the country. Open Fiber has expertise in the design, construction and management of networks and information systems necessary to transport and process large volumes of data (including video) in real time. Autostrade per l’Italia has the know-how for the development of technological solutions for the acquisition and processing of data on traffic management and access control and video analytics algorithms, as well as the ability to provide innovative sustainable mobility services. , analysis and digital development of processes for mobility and logistics. For Aspi, the collaboration with OF is part of the Mercury program, a pole for technological innovation involving the five subsidiaries of the Group (Amplia Infrastructures, Tecne, Movyon, Free to X and Elgea).

Open Fiber was created to build an ultra-broadband fiber optic network infrastructure ( FTTH ) throughout the country. The goal is to guarantee coverage of the main Italian cities and the connection of rural areas through an ultrabroadband fiber network, providing increasingly advanced services and functions for citizens, businesses and the PA. Open Fiber is a wholesale -only operator , it does not sell fiber optic services directly to the end customer, but makes its infrastructure available to all interested operators on equal terms. With over 13.9 million ultrabroadband UI already connected, Open Fiber is the main Italian operator of FTTH optical fiber and one of the leaders in Europe.
