Mytel slashes mobile data roaming rates by up to 97%

Myanmar operator Mytel has changed its Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) Policy for International Roaming in frequently visited countries, namely Cambodia, China, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Timor-Leste, Thailand and Vietnam. mytel data roaming

Mytel reports it has reduced its data roaming rates by up to 97 percent compared to the previous rates.

Under the new mobile data tariff system, customers traveling to Thailand will be charged MMK 15 per MB, down from the previous rate of MMK 500 per MB.

Data roaming services for travelers to Singapore will be reduced to MMK 50 per MB, down from the previous rate of MMK 500 per MB, while mobile data traffic for Mytel customers travelling to Malaysia and China will now cost MMK 15 per MB, down from the previous rate of MMK 500 per MB.

Roaming rates for mobile data traffic in Japan and South Korea have been cut to MMK 50 from MMK 1,000 per MB, while mobile data traffic in roaming in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos will now be charged MMK 15, down from MMK 1,000. Under the new tariff system, customers travelling to Timor-Leste will also pay MMK 15 per MB for mobile data services, compared to the previous rate of MMK 2,500 per MB.
