Mozambique’s Tmcel launches eSims
Mozambique’s publicly owned telecommunications company, Tmcel, has launched onto the Mozambican market a virtual SIM card or eSIM. Mozambique Tmcel eSim
Since the eSIM cannot be removed because it is virtually integrated into the device, the data connection cannot be interrupted and this helps in locating it if it is lost. It also eliminates the problem of wear and tears off the card, in addition to providing more security in case of loss or theft of the device. Another advantage is that the eSIM allows activating multiple numbers on the same device.
The purpose of eSIM is to provide greater convenience for consumers regarding the security of their devices and data. It will thus no longer be necessary to insert or remove the card from the phone.
It should be noted that this service is available to Prepaid, Duo and Postpaid customers. Activation of the eSIM is carried out at the Tmcel Stores listed in the following link Tmcel eSIM stores available.
“Since the e-SIM card cannot be removed, because it is virtually integrated into the device, the connection of the data cannot be interrupted”, said the source. “This helps in locating the phone in the event of loss or theft, and eliminates the possibility of the card breaking or wearing out”.
Physical SIM Cards to Remain Dominant Among Mobile Phone Users in Mozambique
However, the technology is relatively new, so phones that can support an eSIM card are new to the Mozambican market. Most mobile phone users in Mozambique will continue to use physical SIM cards for some time to come. Mozambique Tmcel eSim
