LogMeIn Hamachi is a virtual private network service that is set up in minutes and gives you remote and secure access to your corporate network from any location that has an Internet connection.
Unlike hardware and software VPN systems, Hamachi is an on-demand virtual network service that allows you to provide remote connections to your users and systems, without worrying about the underlying technology and infrastructure.
Each Hamachi client has a virtual IPv4 (IP) address in the range 25.xxx and an IPv6 address. The virtual IP address is unique and allows access to the client from any other Hamachi network that shares at least one mesh or star network in common.
System requirements for Hamachi
LogMeIn Hamachi has been tested with the following operating systems:
- Windows 7 (all versions), Server 2008 r2 (all versions)
- Windows 8, 8.1 (Desktop interface only)
- Windows 10
- Windows Server 2012 (all versions)
- Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or newer on Intel-based Macs
- Linux Distributions:
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS or later
- CentOS 7.2 or later
The Gateway Node feature is not available on the following platforms due to limitations inherent in the affected operating systems:
- Mac OS
- Windows Small Business Server Editions
- Any operating system deployed on Microsoft Azure
