In order to ensure the sustainability of tariffs for domestic electronic communications services, the possibility to apply additional charges for international roaming services has been established for only one Lithuanian mobile operator – UAB Teledemai.

RRT, having received a virtual request from the mobile operator UAB Teledema and in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. In accordance with the provisions of Article 6c of Regulation (EU) No 531/2012, it assessed the calculations provided by the international roaming provider and re-established the maximum surcharges (ie the maximum surcharges on national tariffs) for their customers traveling within the EU / EEA. This decision will apply from 2022. June 15 until 2023 June 14

UAB Teledema will be able to apply only the amount of additional roaming charges necessary to compensate for the losses incurred by them in order to ensure the stability of national prices. Whether to apply them and to what extent will be left to the discretion of the operator, but will not exceed the limit set by RRT.

With declining wholesale international roaming prices in the EU, Lithuania continues to move closer to the main goal of the Regulation, which is to give roaming-like-at-home mobile services to EU travelers throughout the EU , and at the same time to ensure the stability of tariffs for domestic electronic communications services.
