Google’s Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) Arrive with 5G Speed Boost
Traditionally, Google launches its flagship Pixel smartphone lineup in the fall. Although the COVID-19 pandemic has caused quite a few changes in the industry so far, it looks like the Google Pixel 5 will land only a few days after fall officially begins! Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) supercharge the helpfulness of Google with an extra boost of speed.
Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a (5G) will only be available in the following countries: the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia.
With the launch of the Pixel 4a, Google officially teased its upcoming 2020 phone lineup, and extensive leaks have filled in the rest. The Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5—with a handful of variants—have arrived at the FCC this morning.
Google Pixel 5: First specs already known
The device is said to have installed the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor with 8 GB of RAM. Only 128 GB of storage will be available. Inside is either a battery with a size of 3800 to a maximum of 4000 mAh (the exact value has not yet been leaked). Google is now pursuing a different strategy than in previous years. Google’s Pixel smartphones should be the Android trailblazers: the best hardware, stylish design, and the best software.
Given that the Pixel 4a is A4R G025J, G025E, G025H, and G025I are most likely the Pixel 4a (5G). They are set to share the same plastic body, headphone jack, and 6GB of RAM.
Of course, the upcoming phone has next-generation cellular connectivity, a bigger hole-punch screen, a better processor (Snapdragon 765G), and dual cameras (regular + wide angle). These devices only feature support for Sub-6 5G bands.
Meanwhile, the A4R GD1YQ and GTT9Q should be the Pixel 5 and represent a model-naming departure for Google. With wireless charging and the ability to charge accessories, like Pixel Buds, the Pixel 5 is rumored to have 8GB of RAM and a large 4,000 mAh battery. The 90 Hz 6-inch screen is smaller than the 4a 5G’s 6.2-inch, and there is no 3.5mm port as a “premium” phone.
The Google Pixel 5 will appear in two colors. The colors green and black are available for a price of 629 euros. The Google Pixel 4a 5G will appear in white and black for the already-known 499 euros.
Last year was the first time Google drastically switched up the overall design of its flagship Pixel phones. With the Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, Google changed the shape of the phones, removed the rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, completely overhauled the camera module, and rolled back its display changes from the Pixel 3 line.
