Google opens new co-working space in Berlin: YouTube Space

On more than 1500 square meters, the new Berlin Youtube Space offers three professionally equipped video studios as well as rooms for editing and sound recording on the Museum Island.
There are also break rooms and a co-working place in the new space in the immediate vicinity of Google’s capital city branch.

Staatsoper collaborates with Youtube

Youtube Spaces are meant as places where the craft of storytelling is at home, said Youtube Europe boss Cécile Frot-Coutaz. State-of-the-art technology, for example, should provide bands and musicians with the necessary conditions for their musical projects. But classical music also has a firm place on the video portal. The Staatsoper Unter den Linden announced a partnership with Youtube.
Above all, we want to show younger generations on Youtube how exciting opera is,” said State Opera Director Matthias Schulz. The opera house wants to use this channel to take a look behind the scenes.

Minimum requirement for the Youtube Space: 10,000 subscribers Berlin Youtube Space

The Google subsidiary also maintains Youtube Spaces in Los Angeles, New York, Rio de Janeiro, London, Paris and Tokyo. So far there has been a Youtube Space in Berlin’s Tempelhof district, but the new building offers significantly more space and is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, said Stephanie Renner, manager of the new location. The motto “first come, first serve” applies to the use of the rooms or participation in workshops, said Renner. The only prerequisite is that the creative people have at least 10,000 subscribers on their channel. In Germany there are more than 200 Youtube channels with more than one million subscribers each, more than 2800 channels have more than 100,000.
