eSIM Go partners with Lufthansa Group to deliver on-brand global travel eSIM services
eSIM Go announced its partnership with Lufthansa Group (LHG) to provide eSIM mobile data services to passengers across four of its airlines. Having successfully proven the business case with the positive launch of a SWISS eSIM service earlier this year, LHG is committed to replicating the model for Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines. Each is enabled by eSIM Go’s fully managed Powered by Breeze solution, making it easy for travelers to stay connected to the highest quality connectivity in 150+ countries worldwide while avoiding expensive data roaming charges.
Delegates at the FTE EMEA conference in Dublin will be able to learn more about the partnership, and the strategic airline benefits of ancillary eSIM services, by attending the joint conference session: “The Connected Traveler – How an eSIM can enhance CX, grow brand loyalty and increase in-destination ancillary revenue”, featuring Timothy Haupt, Manager of Ancillary Strategy & Commercial Development at LHG alongside eSIM Go’s Bill McKimm.
“We’re really excited to be partnering with Lufthansa Group and playing a key role in their strategy to champion the end-to-end passenger travel experience. As the hottest category in airline ancillaries for years, branded travel eSIMs are a great opportunity to increase customer value both in revenue but also in terms of added loyalty, and the platform they create for other core and ancillary services.” said Bill McKimm, VP Travel at eSIM Go.
The new partnership reinforces eSIM Go’s dominant position in the aviation industry, growing the total addressable market for its B2B2C travel eSIM solutions by another 100 million passengers a year. eSIM Go already has established partnerships in place with numerous airlines, including Wizz Air and Icelandair, as well as airports such as Sydney Airport (SYD) and Fraport Group (incorporating Frankfurt (FRA) and many more).
“This partnership with eSIM Go will give seamless and hassle-free access to mobile data plans to many more customers in 2024, providing them with a more affordable alternative to traditional data roaming. Whether traveling for business or leisure, staying connected is an increasingly important part of the travel experience for our customers,” said Johann-Philipp Bruns, Vice President Ancillary, Partner and Retail Lufthansa Group.
In 2023, Lufthansa Group transported over 122 million passengers, a significant increase from the previous year, showcasing a strong recovery from the pandemic’s impact on air travel.
eSIM Go already powers Icelandair, Swiss, and Wizz Air and passengers at Frankfurt, Sydney, and Bristol Airports. Learn more about eSIM Go and its eSIM services here.
