Qantas reveals most loved inflight entertainment

Viewed more than 750,000 times, Top Gun: Maverick topped the inflight film charts despite only debuting in September. In the month of its release, an average of one in three customers on all flights watched the film.

Aussie hits Elvis and Falling for Figaro were apparently also popular.
TV show Succession was watched for more than 243,000 hours on board, while And Just Like That breathed new life into Sex in the City, with around 200,000 hours of viewing. In third place, Yellowstone prequel 1883 reached a similar level of popularity.
Meanwhile, the most watched kids’ shows were Kamp Koral and Bluey.
Choosing meditation over music, Qantas passengers tuned into 417 Hz Mindfulness by Miracle Tones & Solfeggio Healing Frequencies MT the most, marking the first time meditation topped the inflight audio charts. The health and wellness audio racked up 1.7 million hours of listening.
When it came to pop, Adele’s 30 took out the top spot.
Wi-fi flying high
Passengers’ use of Qantas’ free Wi-Fi soared in 2022, with an average of 18GB downloaded per flight, equivalent to 125 hours of streaming music.
Brisbane to Perth was the most connected route, with 95 percent of customers taking advantage of the free service, compared to the network average of a tick over 60 percent. Notable spikes in usage occurred during big sporting events like football finals and cricket.
On the news front, the most notable occurrence was the 500 percent spike in visits to the New York Times following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Unsurprisingly, Facebook and Instagram were the most used social platforms followed by Snapchat and TikTok.
New to Qantas this year was the rollout of inflight entertainment streamed to customers’ own devices on QantasLink’s regional jets and a dedicated Paramount+ category within the onboard entertainment platform.

How do I connect to the Qantas Entertainment network?
Connecting to a Wi-Fi network varies from device to device, but the process is no different from connecting to a hotspot in a hotel or internet café. On most devices, you can view and connect to available Wi-Fi networks within the settings option.
The network name on the aircraft will appear as ‘Q Streaming 1’, ‘Q Streaming 2’ or ‘Qantas Free Wi-Fi’.
