Ooredoo Oman offers 5G business internet plans

Ooredoo Oman has rolled out 5G and with it, plans designed for businesses, to support Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and Small Office, Home Offices (SoHo’s).
With a one-year contract, customers can choose 20 Mbps for OMR 199 or 50 Mbps for OMR 399. Two-year contracts provide 20 Mbps for OMR 139 and 50 Mbps for OMR 279, with other higher speed plans to be added soon.

Until 18 July 2020, all Ooredoo Business customers can get up to 150 GB extra local data free every single month with the popular Shahry Business eezee plans. With increased monthly quotas plus all the perks of the convenient and affordable plans, it’s part of Ooredoo’s efforts to support businesses to ‘Be Digital’, particularly while facing the added demands of working from home.

Sultan bin Ahmed Al Wahaibi, Chief Business and Wholesale Officer at Ooredoo, said, “Since companies are increasingly operating from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this is causing an increased demand for data for things like video calls or just keeping in touch with colleagues for meetings. With our extra data offer we want our business customers to know that we are here to support them as they navigate this new way of working and help them stay productive in a challenging world.”

At the same time, the future is now as Ooredoo Oman launches its highly anticipated 5G Home Internet plans. At just OMR 28 per month for 20 MB speed and OMR 35 per month for 100 MB speed, customers will experience connectivity up to 10 times faster than current home internet services, along with a massive 1,000 GB of data. Customers will get a free plug-and-play 5G modem when they sign up for a 24 month contract. With ultra-low latency to dramatically improve video, gaming and VR, 5G is the gateway to a whole new world of wireless technology.
Ooredoo has been preparing for the transition to 5G Home Internet since 2019, rolling out demonstrations and experience zones at stores in Muscat and Salalah. A number of customers in Muscat, Barka, Sohar, Salalah, Al Buraimi and Nizwa will be able to enjoy a new world of fast-speed connectivity. With an ever-growing network, the state-of-the-art technology promises to dramatically increase the speed at which data is transferred. It is also expected to pave the way for other new technologies such as autonomous vehicles, virtual reality and the Internet of Things.
