In areas with weaker 4ky signal coverage, but also in houses with thick walls or several floors underground, VoWiFi can route the call via the home Internet network instead of a transmitter with a weak signal, thus achieving greater stability and call quality.

However, this does not mean that it is a free “internet call”, similar to calls made via Messenger or Whatsapp. Nothing changes in this direction and the price list per call minute remains exactly the same.

Not for everyone

A compatible mobile phone is also required, with the correct settings and a connection to the home WLAN.

4ka also requires the functionality to send an activation SMS, so activating the function in the smartphone settings is not enough.

In addition to calls, it is also possible to send and receive SMS messages in this way. A nice option is also the ability to have an active call and download mobile data at the same time, which isn’t possible on some older 3G networks.

However, 4ka warns that after leaving the house or apartment and losing the WiFi connection, the call will continue only on the 4G network and with the VoLTE function enabled, otherwise it will be canceled.
