The VoLTE (voice over LTE) or “voice over LTE/4G” service allows telephone calls to be made over a 4G or 5G network using data packets. In this way, a much greater volume of information is transmitted compared to the old generations of mobile networks – especially 3G, which are traditionally used for voice calls. Thus, users can make calls with excellent quality, connect faster when dialing and simultaneously talk on the phone and access the Internet, using a 4G or 5G network.

VoLTE calls are charged per minute as standard, there is no additional charge, and they do not use up the megabytes included in the plan or the maximum speed additional package. The service is available to all Yettel customers who have a compatible device and SIM card. Once activated, the service will work both in Bulgaria and in countries where VoLTE roaming is supported by the operator.

VoLTE represents the natural development of mobile networks and has been used in Bulgaria for several years. More and more mobile operators have either already shut down or are planning to shut down their 3G networks to free up more frequency resources for new generations of networks. This means that VoLTE is quickly becoming the primary way that roaming customers can make phone calls.

Before the start of the summer season, Yettel advises all customers who will be traveling abroad to check their roaming conditions and offers additional roaming packages so that they can stay connected with their friends and family while abroad. Users can find this information and activate roaming at any time from the operator’s application and from Yettel.bg.
