Vodafone Germany expands 5G roaming to Greece, Monaco and Canada
Vodafone Germany offers one of the largest 5G roamingnetworks in Europe with 22 EU countries. Greece is a new addition. Vodafone’s 5G roaming offer is also growing in non-EU countries; Vodafone customers can also use 5G in Canada and Monaco.
When roaming, smartphones with a Vodafone SIM card automatically log into the local mobile network. Vodafone customers with a 5G smartphone can then surf there at up to 1,000 Mbit/s, depending on the device, the tariff, and the 5G expansion stage – without any additional costs. This applies above all to the most popular summer travel destinations for Germans. In Italy, for example, there are particularly many 5G locations in Milan, Turin, Bologna, Rome and Naples. In Spain, numerous 5G antennas transmit in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville, among others. And there is already good 5G coverage in many cities and in the coastal regions on the North Sea coast in Holland or in Belgium. Where there is no 5G, cell phones automatically switch to 4G (LTE).

In addition, customers benefit from the Allnet Flat S, M, L and CallYa Black tariffs, in addition to the Allnet Flat in Germany, from up to 500 additional minutes or SMS to other EU countries. For example, they can also call their loved ones in Spain from Germany at no additional cost and plan their next visit.
In non-EU countries, consumption is billed according to minutes, data consumption, and SMS.
Unlike normal 5G, 5G+ supports standalone technology and saves energy with less power consumption
5G – the advantages at a glance vodafone germany 5g roaming
5G is the 5th generation mobile communications standard and successor to LTE. With 5G, the network speed is increasing compared to LTE just as rapidly as the capacity for the data flow. This allows customers to stream high-definition 4K TV content on their smartphones and tablets at ultra-fast speeds and complete large data downloads in just a few seconds. Very fast response times and low delays also make complex real-time applications such as online gaming possible.
In Germany, Vodafone launched 5G in the summer of 2019. The company now covers half of Germany and supplies more than 50 million people with the latest mobile communications standard. Among them are around 10 million people who can already use the real-time 5G+ network. By 2023, Vodafone plans to make 5G+ available to 60 million people in Germany.
