Data traffic analysis shows that Telenor’s attractive ‘Roam like home in 8 Asian Countries’ service, resulted in a record high usage of roaming services for Myanmar people travelling abroad during the holiday. Telenor introduced the ASIA-8 roaming plan ‘Roam like home’ for both prepaid and post-paid customers in April for the company’s customers to use internet with local rate of 8 Kyat per MB (exclusive of tax) while travelling or working in Thailand, Malaysia, China, Singapore, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Indonesia and Taiwan. This is a saving of up to 99.95 percent compared with traditional roaming tariffs. Currently, Telenor’s roaming services are most popular in Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and China among the eight countries where the ‘Roam like home’ data plan is available.

Telenor Myanmar has become a global operator.

At present, subscribers can use roaming services in 117 countries with 152 partners while its 4G roaming service is available in China, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, UAE, Canada, Macau, Taiwan and Norway. At the same time, subscribers of 193 operators from 124 countries can use their overseas SIMs with Telenor network in Myanmar.
