Tele2 Russia international roaming increased 4 times
Tele2 Russia international roaming recorded a significant increase in customer activity this summer. The total volume of Internet traffic traveling abroad compared to the same period last year increased by more than 4 times.
This is due to the large-scale expansion of the geography of the “ Unlimited Internet Abroad ” option : the operator has increased the list of service countries from 89 to 124 compared to last August.
The service has become popular with Tele2 customers since its launch in February 2018. The most active users of mobile Internet abroad this summer were subscribers traveling to Turkey, Italy and Spain – in these countries, customers downloaded 40% of the total number of gigabytes spent abroad. It is noteworthy that last year these countries were also leaders in the ranking by the volume of downloaded Internet traffic abroad.
The number of operator’s customers traveling outside Russia in the summer increased by 20%. The most mobile were Muscovites, Petersburgers and Belgorod residents, who together visited 177 countries.
More than a quarter of Tele2 subscribers who traveled abroad in the summer visited Ukraine and Turkey. These countries traditionally lead in the ranking of the most visited destinations by Tele2 subscribers in the summer. Kazakhstan took the third place – the number of customers visiting it increased by a third compared to last year.
The most exotic travel destinations are the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Suriname and Grenada.
Tele2 noted a significant interest in traveling around Russia from foreign tourists. The most popular cities among foreigners this summer were Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as Irkutsk, Vladivostok and Chelyabinsk.
The largest influx of foreign subscribers this year was from China, Estonia and the UK. Tele2 Russia international roaming
