This cutting-edge solution empowers hotels to offer real-time, personalized service via WhatsApp, reshaping how guests interact with hotel services and local experiences.

“We started as an AI travel planner. Now we have over 50,000 users every month, especially in Europe,” said Andres Martinez Artal, CEO and founder of Speakspots, in an interview with PhocusWire. “We started integrating different destinations. Now we have 300 destinations in 68 countries. At some point, we realized if we want to have the long tail of destinations—not 300 but 3,000—we need to establish some sort of partnership.”

The B2B AI agent was developed to help rural properties automate guest communications and drive incremental revenue.

The solution is meant to be scalable and incorporates web scraping large language models to provide personalized recommendations through WhatsApp. The agent is also capable of handling restaurant and activity reservations and making calls on behalf of guests in the local language—something Speakspots sees as a way to move past language barriers and roaming fees.

“In rural areas and secondary cities, hotels are still very much seen as the entry-point to a destination—guests look to them for advice and guidance about what to see and do during their stay,” Martinez Artal said in a release.

The Speakspots AI agents are able to integrate internal hotel content such as documents, applications, and websites with external data to give guests personalized recommendations both on- and off-property. To use the app, guests do not need to download any additional applications.

“There’s a paradox in travel right now; digital native travelers want authentic, local experiences, but the small businesses in destinations who are most able to offer that authenticity can’t keep up with fast-moving advances in technology and AI,” Martinez Artal said in a release. “What we need is a technological bridge, that means SMEs can benefit from genAI for next to nothing and with very little effort, and digital travelers can find what they’re looking for via their everyday technology. We are building that bridge.”

What It Is

  • A white-label agentic AI embedded via WhatsApp, allowing hotels to customize it as their own, without requiring guests to download any new app
  • Integrations include internal content (website, brochures, hotel systems) and external data (local businesses, tours, dining), offering highly tailored content and real-time recommendations.
  • Central to the offering is an AI reservation agent capable of making phone calls in local languages to book experiences like restaurant tables or guided tours, bridging language gaps and avoiding guests’ roaming charges.

Proven Results

A pilot at five-star ARTIEM Asturias showed measurable upticks in guest spend and satisfaction within just two months, with extra revenue already covering the platform’s cost. The solution is now rolling out to ARTIEM Carlos III in Menorca

Why It Matters

  • Hotels: Gain a smart, scalable tool to deliver a high-touch, personalized guest journey and boost ancillary revenue.
  • Guests: Enjoy seamless access to local services—from spa appointments to authentic experiences—through familiar channels.
  • SMEs & local businesses: Benefit from increased bookings via voice-call automation, even if they lack digital infrastructure

According to Andrés Martínez Artal, CEO of Speakspots.com, the platform aims to “work for people to experience a fuller, more satisfying trip by bringing the offer of rural SMEs to their fingertips.”

What’s Next

Speakspots is initially targeting high-end rural resorts across Spain and Western Europe, with expansions planned for more hotels in their portfolio. Voice-assistant integration is in the roadmap, alongside rollout across broader regions.
