Skyscanner DROPS: Your New Tool for Finding the Cheapest Flights
Skyscanner announced a new, exclusive app feature to inspire travelers and save them money. By scouring more than 80 billion prices every day, Skyscanner’s newest feature, DROPS, provides travelers with a collection of flights (from a selected nearby airport) that have dropped in price by at least 20% that day (compared to the last seven days).
Skyscanner DROPS data reveals some significant savings to top and frequently ‘dropped’ in-price destinations to help cost-conscious travelers getaway and stay within their budget. As travelers plan for their summer vacations, they can feel confident DROPS will help them get the best price.
To celebrate the launch of the DROPS feature, Skyscanner’s data gurus have crunched the numbers to share their top DROPS insights (based on all DROPS served to American travelers in January 2025):

Laura Lindsay, Global Travel Trends Expert at Skyscanner, commented:
“When choosing where to go on vacation, cost is still the deciding factor for most Americans. In fact, our 2025 Travel Trends Report revealed 51% of Americans consider flights the most important factor when planning a trip – before hotel and food. We want to help travelers make their money go further, so they can go farther and explore new destinations. In addition to the price tracking and other savings features Skyscanner offers, DROPS will be another tool for travelers to access and feel confident they can book that getaway without breaking the bank.”
