SK Telecom enhances mobile communication quality

SK Telecom also announced on the 21st that it will begin concentrated management of mobile communication quality to provide stable services ahead of this year’s Lunar New Year holiday.

From the day before the holiday, on the 24th, to the last day of the holiday, on the 30th, SK Telecom will operate a special communication situation room and deploy approximately 1,500 personnel, including specialized staff from subsidiaries, affiliates, and partners, to monitor communication services 24 hours a day. In particular, this year’s Lunar New Year holiday will be longer than usual due to the designation of the 27th as a temporary holiday, so preparations will be made even more thoroughly.

SK Telecom plans to strengthen its situation response system by cooperating organically with personnel from subsidiaries such as SK Broadband, SK ONS, and Home & Service, as well as affiliates like SK C&C, with a total of over 10,000 personnel deployed during the holiday.

For this Lunar New Year holiday, SK Telecom has completed the expansion of 5G and LTE base station capacities mainly at major train stations, bus terminals, airports, key tourist spots, accommodation facilities, and bustling areas. In particular, attention will be paid not only to mobile communication quality in frequently congested areas of highways where localized data traffic increases are expected but also to the management of services such as A-Data that customers frequently use during their return travels.
